summer is HERE! the heat feels like it just cranked up about 10 degrees and we celebrated the beginning of the season by going to a gorgeous resort with my husband’s family. we spent a few days basking in the sun and riding ponies! the girls declared it the ‘best vacation EVER….except for disney world.’

to thank my wonderful in-laws for taking us on such a fun trip, i took a shot of them before dinner with their gorgeous grandchildren. i feel ever so lucky to have such wonderful people in my life! thanks for everything!!

we definitely kicked off summer with a bang! now i am back and ready for a few more june weddings and a summer break for myself in july! i am just getting caught up on the emails i missed while on our trip, so be patient with me!

my amazing husband and friends started a project last year called OAK, which stands for ordinary acts of kindness. their goal was to start a lifestyle brand and impact others positively by increasing educational opportunities. so pretty much they are just totally awesome.

a quick scheduling update for you all. this year is closed to new bookings at the current time, though i do have room for one more wedding in september.

2014 is now booking! for the first half of the year i currently have the following openings:
january – 1 wedding
february – 2 weddings
march – booked
april – 1 wedding (pending)
may – 2 weddings
june – 2 weddings

a glowy sunday afternoon at the ladybird johnson wildflower center i saw these two become one. i was beyond flattered when a fellow wedding photographer, one of the beautiful bridesmaids, recommended me for her sweet friends’ wedding. she was the matchmaker who set them up and she worked her magic again setting me up with them as their wedding photographer! it was my honor to capture this wedding.

i had a bed set up in my office the other day for my cousin who was traveling across country and the girls have now taken to coming in and cuddling in it while i sit at my desk. with the beautiful light that pours through my office in the afternoons i couldn’t help but pull out my camera. i pretty much love everything about these pictures and the truly beautiful subjects.

i look at these and see lily’s compassion. i see annie’s energy. i see eve’s quiet observations. i see sisters. love.

these two are just meant to be. i could feel it in my bones and see it on the face of literally every single guest. the emotions were running high and so was the excitement at this gorgeous wedding at the university of texas golf club. aside from the beautiful sunny ceremony there was a gorgeous dinner and amazing party band!

madeleine at posey events knocked this one out of the park with the to-die-for florals and the ladies at 36th street events made sure the day went off without a hitch as always!

i woke up early today, made a cup of coffee and came to sip it in my office while i go over my calendar for the week and prepare for a wedding later today at the ladybird johnson wildflower center. as i opened up my calendar (yes, a paper calendar. you can bring a girl into the digital age, but i’m not letting go of my paper!) i also opened my inbox. this heartfelt email from last weeks’ bride made my whole day already.

people will ask me if i shoot weddings because i love them. and i do. but what i love even more are the brides who hire me.

“You were so much more than a photographer for me that day. Your calming presence, reassuring smile and all around awesomeness meant so much. I told my sister that it felt like the coordinator was there to keep the wedding in order and you were there to keep my head in order! I don’t think I can try to put it into words before the bride hormones get the best of me

I have been singing your praises high and low (even though your photos do that for you) and can’t imagine having had anyone else photograph our wedding. Thank you for being a part of what will surely be one of the very best days of our lives.”

these two met while filming a music video and it is only appropriate that their wedding day felt like a beautiful theatrical set and the climactic moment in a much bigger story. both had such style and not a detail was left to chance- i absolutely loved how it all played out and hope you enjoy this peek into their dreamy wedding day.

these faces were smiling pretty much all day. i already posted her divine bridal portraits, but now you get to see her handsome husband too! i loved the personal touches and sweet emotions of the day. everyone seemed ready to really celebrate from the moment they arrived. i was joined again by the wonderful mollie kendall and i love her aerial shot of the vows!
